Scope mounting & leveling

Level the system. Set the view.

Rifle-scope mounting with compatible bases and rings, usable eye position, reticle orientation, clearance, and follow-up zeroing considered.

More than tightening rings

The mount, scope, rifle, and shooter must align.

Base pattern, ring diameter and height, tube position, eye relief, turret clearance, objective clearance, and reticle orientation shape the setup.

Range 313 reviews the complete system before mounting and distinguishes mechanical leveling from the final live-fire zero.

Rifle-optic installation support

Build a repeatable view behind the rifle.

A scope can be level yet unusable if the eye position, height, clearance, or mounting range does not suit the rifle and shooter.

The service confirms base, rings, tube, hardware, position, and orientation. Lapping, machining, damaged-thread repair, or live-fire zeroing is separate unless approved.

Service details

What scope mounting may include.

The rifle, base, rings, and scope must be reviewed as one sighting system.

01

System intake

Confirm rifle, action, base, rings, scope dimensions, and intended use.

02

Hardware review

Verify interfaces, diameters, heights, fasteners, condition, and instructions.

03

Positioning

Establish usable scope position, eye relief, and accessible control clearance.

04

Mount & level

Secure accepted components and establish the agreed mechanical orientation.

05

Handoff

Review view, controls, bore sighting, zeroing, and follow-up checks.

Position before final tension

Set the usable view before locking the system.

Eye relief and control clearance should be resolved while adjustment remains available.

01 / Inventory

Confirm every component

Identify rifle, base, rings, scope, caps, fasteners, and instructions.

02 / Position

Establish usable eye relief

Review scope height, fore-aft range, clearance, and intended shooting position.

03 / Mount

Level and secure

Complete accepted mounting and mechanical orientation.

04 / Continue

Plan bore sight and zero

Define preliminary alignment and live-fire confirmation separately.

Choose the complete setup

Separate rings or one-piece mount?

Both can work when compatible. Rifle interface, available space, height, eye relief, and intended use guide the choice.

Separate rings

Flexible ring placement

  • Compatible base required
  • Ring spacing flexibility
  • Diameter and height matched
  • Multiple interfaces to verify

One-piece mount

Integrated ring system

  • Known rail interface
  • Fixed ring spacing
  • Built-in height or offset
  • Complete mount reviewed

Before you visit

Scope mounting FAQs.

Call with the rifle, scope, base, ring diameter, height, and intended use before visiting.

How do I choose ring height?+

Objective clearance, barrel contour, rail, caps, cheek position, bolt or charging-handle clearance, and intended use all matter.

Should I bring the rifle for eye relief?+

Yes. Eye relief depends on the actual rifle, stock, mount range, scope, and intended position.

Does leveling guarantee accurate tracking?+

No. Mechanical setup cannot guarantee optic quality, internal tracking, ammunition consistency, or shooter input.

Is bore sighting included?+

Only if included in the accepted scope. Mounting, bore sighting, and live-fire zeroing remain distinct services.

Can damaged base screws be repaired?+

Damaged threads or receivers require separate repair assessment and may be outside current capability.
