Clear capture, careful handling

Prepare fingerprints for the filing path you will actually use.

Electronic fingerprint capture can make identity-material preparation more convenient, but the required format and submission method depend on the active form, applicant role, and current ATF process.

Range 313 begins by confirming the intended use, then captures the prints within the available service and explains how the resulting material fits into the next step.

Modern identity capture support

Identity materials without guesswork

Match the capture to the current submission requirements.

Electronic fingerprinting is intended for customers who have identified an NFA filing path and need fingerprint material prepared in a supported digital workflow.

A successful scan does not itself establish identity, eligibility, acceptance, or background-check clearance. Exact use, delivery, retention, and resubmission questions depend on current requirements.

Before you visit

Electronic fingerprinting FAQs.

Call before visiting so the team can confirm identification, appointment, and intended-use requirements.

Can electronic fingerprints be used for every NFA submission?+

Do not assume so. Acceptance depends on the current form, system, applicant role, file format, and ATF instructions. Confirm the intended path first.

What identification should I bring?+

Call for the current accepted-identification list. Your identifying information must be current and consistent with the applicable application.

How should I prepare my hands?+

Arrive with clean, dry hands and avoid heavy lotions immediately beforehand. Cuts, worn ridges, dryness, or moisture can affect capture quality.

Does a successful scan clear the background check?+

No. Capture quality and official background-check results are separate. Range 313 does not control identity research, matching, eligibility, or ATF action.

Will Range 313 store my fingerprint file?+

Ask about the current retention and delivery practice before capture. Treat any fingerprint file or card as sensitive identity information and protect it accordingly.
